Efren Vazquez qualified ninth for round eight at the historical TT Circuit in Assen tomorrow.
Despite some rain drops this morning the weather remains dry for this afternoon’s qualifying practice in the Netherlands. Both Efren and teammate Danny Kent displayed a strong performance during the 40 minute long session at lunch time but some traffic on track slowed down their pace during the latter stages of the session.
As announced the race gets underway on Saturday morning at 11:00 am for the very last time at the Dutch World Championship round. Race distance is 22 laps. From 2016 the schedule will be changed to the usual one with all races on Sunday.
#7 Efren VAZQUEZ, Grid position 9th – 1´41.980 (3/15):
“I think we did a really good job so far this weekend but finally we missed to set a faster lap time during this session. I already set a good lap time in my first outing but during the latter stages of qualifying practice I ran into traffic on track and we weren’t able to improve. This of course is a pity but our pace in race conditions is quite good so I look forward to tomorrow and we try just to stay focussed in this way. The gap is very close although I’m a bit upset about the situation towards the end of the session with many riders slowed down their pace on the line as well as some of them stopped in the pit lane. I think all fast riders including Danny and me were capable of improving their lap times without this stupid things done by some competitors. Hopefully the race direction will think about this happenings to prevent something like this in the future.”
